The true meaning of rainbows...

Genesis 9:8-17
8 ¶ And God spake unto Noah, and to
his sons with him, saying,
9 And I, behold, I establish my covenant
with you, and with your seed after
you;
10 And with every living creature that
is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle,
and of every beast of the earth with you;
from all that go out of the ark, to every
beast of the earth.
11 And I will establish my covenant
with you, neither shall all flesh be cut
off any more by the waters of a flood;
neither shall there any more be a flood
to destroy the earth.
12 And God said, This is the token of
the covenant which I make between me
and you and every living creature that
is with you, for perpetual generations:
13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it
shall be for a token of a covenant between
me and the earth.
14 And it shall come to pass, when I
bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow
shall be seen in the cloud:
15 And I will remember my covenant,
which is between me and you and every
living creature of all flesh; and the
waters shall no more become a flood to
destroy all flesh.
16 And the bow shall be in the cloud;
and I will look upon it, that I may remember
the everlasting covenant
between God and every living creature
of all flesh that is upon the earth.
17 And God said unto Noah, This is
the token of the covenant, which I have
established between me and all flesh that
is upon the earth.

What I find fascinating is that verse 16 means that every time we stand in awe as we look upon the beauty of a rainbow, God is also looking down out of heaven at that same rainbow. How incredible is that?!?! :)

Tree or Chaff?

Which are you... the tree or the chaff?

Psalm 1:1-6

1 - Blessed  is  the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 - But his delight  is  in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 - And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4 - The ungodly  are  not so: but  are  like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5 - Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 - For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

This world, our flesh, and the god of this world are constantly working to pull our hearts and minds away from anything that has to do with Jesus Christ the Lord. As children of God, we need to decide where we are going to be planted. Are we going to root ourselves right next to the River of Living Water? Or are we going to allow the things of this world draw us away from our only Source of Life and settle in a place we were never supposed to be in, with the chaff? Is our place among that which is only fit for being burned with unquenchable fire?

Luke 3:17 - Whose fan  is  in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.

Let us all determine to take heed... see where we are at... repent, and turn unto the Lord... May we all choose to be planted by the River of Living Water, and glorify our Lord.
